How often have you missed a photograph, because you or your camera wasn't ready? If the
answer is "Way too many times," then you aren't alone. We've all been there, done that.
Photographing any moving subject demands some advance preparation.
The goal is to have your camera ready to roll so that you are free to concentrate on
composition, as well as catching the peak of the action and the decisive moment with
the sharpest image.
Here are some considerations that I'll go into in more depth in my soon-to-released
Value Course.
We'll start with the basic building blocks of composition, but by the
end of the course (that you take at your own pace) you WILL master:
- Knowing when to increase your ISO to capture moving subjects without flash.
- Use a wide aperture (low f/number) to let in more light to achieve a faster shutter speed.
- Shooting in the Continuous Mode which lets you take a series of rapid-fire images.
- Shutter speed and image stabilization.
- Make the most of your camera settings like Sports/Action to help freeze moving objects.
guide and interpreter. We'll be speaking the same language and you'll be delighting in
a newfound confidence with the techniques I'll show you step by step. I'll give practical
tips and assignments to explore.
Our newest Value Course is like a composition "crash course" without the need for an
emergency landing :)
I'll be your co-pilot as you start to see clear skies, uncluttered pictures and start making
images that you will be proud of for years to come!
Have a great weekend and be ready to really get rolling on Monday!
