Welcome to the 670th issue of SnapShot! Hello,
For a good jolt of creativity, consider shooting scenes with a slow shutter speed in order to convey a sense of motion. With a slow shutter, the part of the scene that's moving - whether it's a waterfall, an amusement ride, traffic lights, or even a train - will be blurred. In contrast, the stationary parts of the scene will be in sharp focus, assuming a tripod is used to keep the camera steady. For great inspiration and ideas, see BetterPhoto's gallery of long-exposure images. Contest news: 1) Once again, it's OK to resubmit. If a photo didn't place, and you'd like to try again, then feel free to go for it! 2) The judges are now selecting more Editor's Picks, and best yet, the EP's are being chosen sooner. Tip on April's contest theme: For 'Back to Basics', think in terms of 'the simple life'. Have fun! Kerry Drager Newsletter Editor
