TESTIMONIAL OF THE WEEK 'I just loved this class. It pushed me to try to think creatively and I learned a lot of great Photoshop techniques that I can apply to all my photos. I highly recommend this class and any other with Jim Zuckerman. I have taken three classes with him and each has been wonderful.' -Antoinette Addison, student in Photoshop: Advanced Creative Techniques
INSIGHTS FROM INSTRUCTORS! In BetterPhoto's exciting photo blog, you'll receive tips, thoughts and updates from our pro team of instructors. GET FEEDBACK FROM A PRO! LEARN PHOTOGRAPHY OR PHOTOSHOP AT YOUR OWN PACE! THIS WEEK'S TIP Tripod Workflow By Kerry Drager I use a tripod when shooting most stationary scenes - in order to achieve the best image quality and to fine-tune compositions. The tripod set-up, though, should come near the end of the creative process, not the beginning! With camera in hand, I'll wander around in search of the best viewpoint, the right lens focal length, etc. Only when I've lined up the approximate shot do I grab the tripod, attach the camera, and frame the composition just the way I envisioned it.

Articles & Updates from BetterPhoto Auto white balance is designed to remove color casts, exactly what you DON'T want for sunrise and sunset. Read more of instructor Rob Sheppard's article... Using flash at sunrise or sunset, says instructor Jim Zuckerman, 'is a striking technique because the white/bluish tone of the flash contrasts dramatically with the golden light in the sky.' See Jim Z's excellent article... Check out these inspiring how-to books co-authored by BetterPhoto instructors Jim Miotke and Kerry Drager!
