If you haven't signed up yet, what's holding you back? Here are some common reasons people don't get out shooting and why you shouldn't let them stop you from joining in on Saturday and making some new photography friends.
Bad weather?
I live in Seattle so if I let this stop me, I'd never go out. In fact, I've had some of the most fun shooting in the rain with friends because misery loves company :) but seriously, a little rain won't hurt you and a simple plastic bag or shower cap (no really - shower cap) works well to protect your camera.
Nothing to shoot?
Believe me, I understand this challenge! My answer to this one: it's all about time. Getting up early or meeting just before sunset when the sky is changing and light is magic is a great way to find unique and beautiful things anywhere. You'll be amazed at all there is to capture.
Here's a handy checklist so you can get ready before you go. And invite your friends. No experience is required and who knows, you might encourage a new hobby sharing your love of photography!
Meetup Day checklist: Is your gear ready?
And when I say "gear" there is no requirement for big cameras, or tripods. In fact, some of our pros like to take a point and shoot camera out sometimes to see what they can capture. Bring what you have because even cell phone cameras will capture the moment!
Before you go: - Batteries charged?
- Got a spare?
- Images backed up?
- Memory cards cleared?
- Memory card in camera?
- Got extra memory?
- What will I likely shoot? (Got "shot" list?)
- Bringing the best lenses?
- Got the tripod, remote, filters, etc.?
- Model releases and notepad?

When photographing with other people, it's really magical to watch other people see. Let's shoot and share together EVERYWHERE!
