This is amazing that this picture was taken without any flash. I was at my sister's wedding recently and noticed the photographer was not using a flash at all and here I was trying to capture great pictures with my extended flash on my camera. I could not figure out how this photographer was able to get any shots in the low lite wedding without flash. NOW I KNOW!. This is so exciting to me. I can't wait to try this out. Thanks for this information!

Response 1:Hi Cheryl,
I took this image without flash and got great results partly because there was a good deal of light coming in through a bank of windows on the left side of this couple. I used an ISO setting of 1600 to ensure that I could get good exposures without flash, especially because the couple had a wedding photographer who was using flash and I didn't want to interfere. :) Have fun using the high ISO settings on your camera, and I look forward to seeing your images.

Hello Simon,
Lovely photo!

Response 1:Hi Alexander,
Thank you! I was experimenting with my Lee Filters 10-stop ND (neutral density) filter to achieve a long (15-second) exposure, as I liked the effect it had on the clouds.

Fascinating capture. It's nice that they've gone to colorful traps!

Response 1:It was very foggy and chilly (and rainy) during most of our week's visit, so lobster traps were about our only color!

Response 2:For me Debby, rainy and heavy overcast days are the only way to go with photography. I've always welcomed the "bad" days and looked forward to shooting on those days. LOL. Sunny days have never been my thing unless it's sunrise or sunset and dusk and dawn but even dawn is good in the overcast and rain too. The colors are awesome and I'm a color lover.
